The church is God's tool to shape you, mold you, and make you into a mature follower of Christ. If you aren't in church, that shaping simply cannot happen.

November 2025

Let me ask you a specific question today. How committed to the local church are you? Take a moment and consider this. Over the past month, how many times have you been in church on Sunday morning?

Even more important, if you do go to church regularly, how involved are you? The church—and all the people in it—is God’s tool to shape you, to mold you, and to make you into a mature follower of Christ. If you aren’t in church, that shaping simply cannot happen.

This concept is biblical. The author of Hebrews bluntly instructs his readers—and us—as to the importance of full-throttle participation in church. “And let us consider how to stir one another up to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another…” (Hebrews 10:24-25—emphasis added).

The message is clear: we are to not only go to church, but participate and foster spiritual growth in others, even as they do this for us.

Bottom line, I would urge you to go to church, and to plunge in. You will be glad you did, and you will be an encouragement to others as you do. If you are interested in getting more on this topic, please follow our teaching this month on the radio, on our app, or on our podcast. The teaching series is called A Better Future.

And let me point out that because the holiday season is just around the corner, there is no better time to rededicate yourself to your local church. At Christmas we celebrate God’s special gift to us in Christ, and this is the core life-changing message of our faith. It is also one we should share because it is one the world needs to hear. Let us help!

This month, we would like to send you a little book called Special Delivery as a thank you for your donation to God Centered Life. This 80-page volume is great to give away at this time of year. It will help people understand the precious gift that God gives to us in Christ. I hope you’ll get a copy, read it, then give it to someone who is trying to understand what Christmas is truly all about. After you do, invite them to church!

A final word of encouragement: if you have drifted away from the church, take a first step this weekend and go back. And if you are hanging on the fringe of your local body of believers, take the next step and get involved. You will experience a fresh touch from the Lord, and he will use you to touch others.
