John 4:1-14: Never Be Thirsty Again
Jeremiah 26-29, Ecclesiastes 8, John 4:1-14, James 5:7-12
Note: As we go through John’s Gospel together over the next few weeks, I refer you to the broadcasts from the Gospel of John which will provide more commentary on the passage. Here is a link to the sermon related to today’s passage: Living Water, Part 1.
Take, then, and read this section of John, and this morning simply reflect on the following bullet points:
- What do we learn from Jesus’ request for help (“give me water”) as an introduction to an evangelistic conversation? Does this reset the potential power dynamic in such a way that there might be openness hear the good news?
- Are we willing to talk to the “Samaritans” of our day and share with them the good news of Jesus?
- Have you experienced that water of life, that if you drink from it you will never be thirsty again?
- How does this call us to seek our greatest satisfaction in none other than Christ himself?
