TODAY'S BIBLE READING:
Today’s Bible Reading: Jeremiah 1-2, Ecclesiastes 1, John 1:1-18, James 1:1-11 John 1:1-18: As we go through John’s Gospel together over the next few weeks, I will refer you to fuller comments in my recently published commentary on John’s Gospel, as well as the recently published Bible study guide. In addition, at College Church we are currently working our way through John’s Gospel on Sunday mornings, and that will provide you with another take on the material. Take, then, and read a full analysis of this section of John’s Prologue, and instead this morning simply reflect on the following bullet points:
- Do we center our lives on Jesus as God incarnate?
- Do we view all of creation as made by Jesus?
- Do we rejoice in the privilege of being “children of God”?
- Do we treasure the Bible as where the eyewitnesses of God’s glory have, by God’s Spirit, written us a witness to that glory?
