Their reaction is so human—after being told by the angel at the tomb to go and tell, they run away and are silent. They’ve been told by the angel, “Don’t be afraid,” and yet they are scared. But we would be likely to do the same thing. It’s reassuring that our hope is not based on performance, but on who Jesus is.
